THE CHALLENGE

Unbeknown to me, the last 20 plus years of gaming prepared me for this challenge. Never designing a game of this size for any other client before, there was a some excitement but also some apprehension. It was an amazing feeling once I started planning and designing, and seeing how things just came naturally. Understanding game concept, trained in U.X and U.I, and a clear focus for what the desire outcome was, made the entire process that much smoother.

The client wanted a game. They envisioned a pop-quiz where, for the correct answers, the user would collect points. With those points they could cash them in for prizes. While that concept is all well and good, it really wouldn't have much re-play value for the user. I created a system that housed several small games. Not only did it allow for more variety, but it also gave them the flexibility to see which types of games their employees preferred. Keeping in mind that the main purpose for the game was to educate the sales team, I believed that it was also necessary to figure out how best to achieve that.

EXPLORATION PROCESS

I went thru several revisions and layouts, trying to get the necessary information on the home page with out cluttering the space.

PHASE ONE

Consisted of an online game. It was created mainly for desktops, or laptop access. A dashboard was then created as a jumping point for access to several intranets.

PHASE TWO

Mobile access - Explorations to overall elevation of the U.I/U.X.

PHASE THREE

Elevated designs - The finished mobile experience. Designing a tailor made application for all mobile devices that would allow access to the software at the event.
